SOLITARY SEATING

Today's blog is a short one text-wise, yet given the limited photo allowance per blog, it will have a 2nd post with photos only.

Marc Newson, Tom Dixon, Eero Aarnio, Wendell Castle, Charles & Ray Eames, Eero Saarinen, Poul Kjaerholm, Arne Jacobsen are designers just to name a few who have created seating forms that can "stand alone", pardon the oximoron. An entrance/foyer, a window corner, an alcove .... the list is endless. Vintage or current designs they are representative of true art forms. In certain cases the genius behind the design was for a given project application in addition to the artistic/creative fusion of form and materials.

On this Labor Day weekend what comes to mind is how these iconic designs must have been labors of love .... forgive the parity.
