ANTONIO CITTERIO
















Antonio Citterio (1950 - ) certainly a modern day icon has earned a reputation for his uncompromising design and craftsmanship. Born in Meda, a small city north of Milan, Citterio graduated in architecture from the Politecnico of Milan in 1972 and established a design studio with Paolo Nava who remained a close collaborator until 1981. Citterio also worked with architect Vittorio Gregotti on the restoration of the Brera Art Gallery in Milan. In 1973 Citterio began a long-term partnership with the furniture company, B&B Italia. Between 1987 and 1996 he worked in association with Terry Dwan and, together, they created buildings in Europe and Japan. Among his most significant works: the restyling of a block in the historical centre of Seregno, Esprit headquarters in Amsterdam, Antwerp and Milan, industrial plants for Vitra, in Germany, and for Antonio Fusco, in Milan. In 1999 “Antonio Citterio and Partners” was founded by Citterio and Patricia Viel, a multidisciplinary practice for architectural design, industrial design and graphics. In the field of industrial design Citterio works with companies Ansorg, Arclinea, Axor-Hansgrohe, Aubrilam, B&B Italia, Flexform, Flos, Fusital, Guzzini, Iittala, Inda, Kartell, Maxalto, Sanitec Group - Pozzi Ginori, Simon Urmet, Technogym, Tre PiĆ¹, Vitra. AC&P steadfastly continues to demonstrate their superb design abilities with numerous corporate and public applications/installations. With his vast portfolio of accomplishments & design, our post today is only “a flea on an elephant’s derriere”.
