20th CENTURY DYNAMIC DUO
Alvar Aalto, Arne Jacobsen, Eero Saarinen, Poul Kjaerholm are names that often come to mind when mid century modern design is topic for discussion. When that conversation comes up next time be sure to include mention of a particular partnership that began in the early 60's. This lesser known duo, Fabricius & Kastholm designed furniture during the mid 20th century that possessed exceptional detail, quality & functionality. Kastholm apprenticed at Fritz Hansen while his counterpart Fabricius did so under Neils Vodder.
"Inspired by the 1920s functionalistic pioneers and the 1960s innovative Scandinavian language of form, Preben Fabricius & Jorgen Kastholm designed a range of minimalist furniture that in recent years has enjoyed a renaissance in the consumers' hearts and homes." *
